My partner Darcy and I decided to make puffy paint! We made 2 glow in the dark paints and 2 kooliad dyed paint. The first two glow in dark paints are, aqua and violet. The koolaid dye made a salmon color and a red color. Going into this project we were a little nervous because this is a type of project you need to be precise in and very careful. After all this project came out as planned. We were able to get what we wanted and even more.
Steps to get this project done:
1. We had to spray a lot of shaving cream into a bowl
2. Then we put Elmer's glue onto of all that and mixed it
3. After that we took separate portions of the cream into a separate container so we could out add the dye and finally we put it into the squirt bottle that we purchased.
The texture of the of puffy paint was just how we wanted it because it was smooth and thick. If I had to re-do this project I would but maybe change the recipe because it is hard to get 100% glow in the dark paint with such little material. Since the glow in the dark was powder, it was a little more complex to mix the powder thoroughly with it clumping together in one place. Something I am taking away with this is that as long as you really think something through and have the right materials, your project will be better than expected. Another thing I would say that I learned is that, simplicity is better.
