In this lab we made atomic structures using gumdrops, toothpicks, and raisins. This project was completed by my group, Meghan, Darcy, Olivia, and I.
In this lab I learned a lot because it was different to actually see the structures in person. I learned that some of the structures are all actually the same even though they are different objects (which is why you will see some of the same structures twice) I noticed that same thing when we were doing the smelling experiment because though the items/smells were different the atomic structures were very similar. I also learned that in between each atom there is a double bond. Which made things more complicated but its ok.
In conclusion I think that the molecular shapes could be tricky but when you think about the symbols (initials)for each different thing, it begins to make sense.
