| Due to shortage of time I was only able to do the first part of this project but a few points from this will do (: Does making atomic cookies relate to chemistry? Baking cookies is in-fact a chemical change!! The cookie dough isn't a necessarily a cookie yet. When it's heated in the oven, a chemical reaction occurs and new bonds are formed. The heat creates this chemical reaction when it comes to heat and baking. There are two types of chemical reactions that are going on one is called “exothermic” a reaction that makes heat, and the other is “endothermic,” a reaction that takes heat in. As you bake a batch of cookies, you are producing an endothermic chemical reaction that changes batter into a solid delicious treat. What they were supposed to look like: |
